There are certain online jobs that do require initial investment while there are some that don’t. This blog post will list all the online jobs that doesn’t require any kind of initial investment.

If you are already looking for a job online, chances are that you are hard on money. So I have listed all these work from home online jobs that doesn’t require any start up money.

These are legit home based jobs without investment.

1. Google Rater

This, in my opinion is one of the best online jobs out there that pays consistent monthly income. I have been working as a Google Rater since June 2016 and it has been almost three years now. I have no shame in shouting out from the rooftops about the awesomeness of this job.

Google Raters are also known as search engine evaluators aka internet analyst or internet safety evaluators or simply raters.

Where to work as a Google Rater?

These companies are hiring at the moment-

Initial Requirements:

Do they hire worldwide?

Yes ! They hire from anywhere in the world where you can access Google from.

Some Notable exceptions are – Pakistan, Nepal, Bhutan, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka ( they are all part of Indian sub-continent).

Most African countries are also excluded.

How much money can I make?

Depending on where you’re located, they pay anywhere from $3 per hour to $14 per hour.

  • Indians are paid $3/hr.
  • Americans are paid $11 – $13/hr depending on which state you are located
  • Europeans are paid from $12 – $14/hr depending on which European country you are in.

I personally made $2007 being an Indian.

2. Social Media Evaluator

This is perhaps the easiest way to make money online. All that you need is a Facebook app or Instagram account, got to be active in it and needs at least 50+ friends or followers.

All that you got to do is to ad give your personal opinions on ads that you see on your Facebook or Instagram wall and get paid for it.

So do I just start commenting on any ads that I see on my Facebook/Instagram wall? Noo..

You would need a special link to give your opinions on those ads.

Where do I work?

These companies hires social media evaluators –

If there are no openings for social media evaluators, sign up for whatever positions you see.

How much do I get paid?

The pay is same as that for Google raters. They are paid $3 – $14 per hour depending on where you are located.

Initial Requirements –

  • Facebook/Instagram account
  • At least 50 friends/followers
  • Payoneer account

3. Online Ads Evaluator

This job is kind of similar to the above two jobs mentioned above. But here, instead of rating Facebook ads, you will be classifying and rating all the other online ads that you see.

Where can I work?

These companies are hiring online ads evaluator at the moment.

How much money can I make?

Depending on where you are located, payment can be anywhere from $3 – $14 per hour.

4. Map Analyst

This is totally different from the above three jobs. Here you would be responsible for assessing the accuracy of map pins, relevance, distance and so much more.

Also the client here is different. For the above three jobs, except for (social media evaluator) the client is Google.

But for Maps Analyst position, the client is Apple.

Yeah, you would be working indirectly for Apple.

How much money can I make?

Now this is not pay per hour. There is no fixed hourly rate for this job. You are paid per task.

One can make anywhere from $11 – $18/hr depending on how fast you can get as you gain more experience with time.

5. Multimedia Judge

This is a unique work at home opportunity where your role as a multimedia judge involves the review, evaluation and feedback of online images and or videos based on a set of guidelines using online tools. In this job you will have the flexibility to choose your own hours to suit your lifestyle. Hours for this role are a minimum of 10, maximum of 20 hours per week depending on availability.

6. Freelancing

The word freelancing encompasses a lot of activities that involves content writing, social media campaign managements for companies, appointment settings, customer service and a lot more.

There is definitely no fixed salary or fixed rate for freelancers. They can make anywhere from few hundred dollars to thousands per month.

7. Phone Jobs

If you have a landline connection and a PC/Mac connected to a fixed router, then you can work as customer service representative/sales executive or receptionist.

The most important requirement for this job is that you must have a room or a place where you can work distraction free. You can’t have kids running around and screaming in the background.

But most of the companies require that you are based in USA and you have a native English proficiency.

Not comfortable with phone jobs? Don’t have a quiet room? Then being a chat agent from home would be a great online work for you.

Anyone can create YouTube videos and put it out online.

This guy has over 1 million subscribers. It is crazy how much money one can make doing stupid videos and posting it online.

10. Social Media Manager

Are you an avid social media user? Can you work in your own schedule and get things done?

Then being a social media manager could be a great option for you. As a  social media manager, your job would be to represent companies online.

You would be responsible for answering queries, write and post on behalf of companies, respond to comments and so on.

One can make anywhere from $1000 – $10,000s per month.

11. Research agent – Wonder

If you like Googling a lot and writing articles, then this position is perfect for you.

All that you got to do is research the web, compile information and present an article that the clients want you to research and compile.

If you are somebody who is making like $2000/ hr, wouldn’t you rather have someone research and write a quick assignment for you than waste your time at it? You would right?

So as  research agent, your job is to get research the web, write an assignment on any given topic and present it in a nice edited format.

How much can I earn?

As per Glassdoor, you can earn anywhere from $1000 – $2000 per month. It of course depends on your experience and your level of being a researcher.

It takes some time and effort to get access to higher paying assignments and for getting more assignments.

12. ESL Teachers

Do you have a degree? Do you have teaching experience?

Then how about working from home as an English teacher and teaching English to Chinese and other Asian kids?

There is a huge demand for English teachers and this could be a perfect home based job without investment for you.

  • You have to be native American or Canadian ( in some cases they accept English and Aussie as well).
  • You must have a college degree.

This is a little different from English teaching jobs.

In this work at home position, you can teach students in any subject that you are good at it. You have to have a degree and experience teaching to kids.

This is another awesome home based job without investment.

All that you need is a good listening skill, good grammar and a good typing speed.

The good thing about this online job without investment is that you can be anywhere in the world and still work as a transcriber from home.

Transcribers can make anywhere from $200 – $2000+ per month depending on how long you stick with it and work your way up.

  • Transcribeme – This is one of the top rated, best work from home job that one can do without any investment. It has been featured by The Penny Hoarder and others. They pay anywhere from $15 – $22/hr with the top earners making around $2200 per month.
  • Casting Words – This is another company that hires transcribers. They pay weekly via PayPal and they pay up to $1 per audio min.

15. Captioner

The job of a work at home captioner is the same as that of a transcriber except that here, instead of audio files, you would be working on video files.

Captioning is of two types –

  • Offline captioning – Captioning of pre-recorded videos.
  • Real-live captioning – Captioning for live events and shows. One can make up to $100,000 here.

If you are an expert at something, why not sell your expertise and make money from it.

Creating a course is very easy these days. You have got drag and drop course builders like WP Courseware and Learndash with which you can build courses within an hour or so. These plugins costs money.

But there are platforms like Teachable where you don’t need to pay any upfront money to create your course.

If your course is free, you won’t be charged anything. If it is not free, you would be charged $1+10% of the course fee.

Easy peasy? Yeah it is. There are some apps that you can try out which will pay you for the photos that you upload from your phone.

21. Mystery Shopping

How about getting paid for giving feedbacks on products, services for companies and brands?

When you promote someone else’s product and get paid an affiliate commission, that is called affiliate marketing. You are called an affiliate of that product/company.

You don’t necessarily need to product a product to get affiliate commissions. Sometimes, you just need to refer your friends and get cool commissions.

In most cases, you need a  blog or a website to promote affiliate products.

But there are certain companies for which you don’t need any blog or a website to promote and make affiliate commissions of.

All that you got to do is to tell it to your friends and have them signed up. You can make up to $25 per referral.

If it doesn’t show the number of items being added, then that would be called a bug and your job as a bug hunter is to report it.
