LEAPFORCE/APPEN GOOGLE HANGOUT
AND FACEBOOK MESSENGERÂ SCAM
There has been a major scam popping up recently. No, I am not saying that Leapforce is a scam.
Leapforce or Appen is not a scam. Please note that Leapforce and Appen are same now. They have been acquired by Appen Global. So when I say, Leapforce, it would mean Appen and vice versa.
But there are some scamsters trying to take advantage of people who have signed up with Leapforce and are yet to hear back from them.
They are also trying to take advantage of people who have failed the Leapforce qualification test on their first attempt.
Here is how the scamters are trying to rip off money from people.
1) They make fake Facebook accounts and ping people with the offer of job, saying guaranteed income of at least Rs 20-30,000 or $500-$1000 (they will adjust the currency according to your country) a month working for Leapforce ( and other companies).
No profile picture, English names, very few friends, etc, are the indicators of a fake Facebook profiles.Â
2) They will ask for your referral IDs (in case you are actively working for Leapforce) so that they can put it in their websites and make affiliate commissions.
3) They will take money from you beforehand, before the Leapforce qualification exam even starts and may simply disappear, without ever getting back to you.
4) They may even claim that they are from Leapforce or Appen
5) They will post job openings in various work from home Facebook groups and will ask you to come to Google Hangouts for pre-interview.
6) They will then ask for your personal details like – bank account details, card numbers, Social Security Numbers (SSNs) and so on.
Leapforce will only coctact you from email addresses like these –
     admin@leapforceathome.com
     xyz…@leapforceathome.com { xyz… meaning anything like support, agent, etc }
But they will never ever ping you in Facebook.
So whenever you see such pings on your Facebook messenger, please let me know. I will take this up with Leapforce and try and track them down, if possible.
I fucking hate scammers, liers and cheaters. They are fucking scum in the face of this planet!
What is hurting me even more is that, they most likely are Indians.
Why you shouldn’t fall for this trap?
1) If you’ve been waiting for the last 2-3 months to hear back from Leapforce, I got a bad news for you. The wait time can be anywhere from 1-6 months. You can check the status of your application here –
https://www.leapforceathome.com/qrp/public/home
On the top of the right hand side, there is a check application status link, below Enrol Now button.
If you don’t hear back from them in 6 months, you can re-apply again with the same gmail.
2) You may lose thousands in this stupid scam. They will take money from you and may never get back to you.
3) The test questions are updated and changed in every exam. So even if they have the answers, there is no guarantee that you will get the same questions as they did. And hence you will fail plus lose your money if you pay them. Another lose-lose situation here.Â
4) If you can’t crack the Leapforce Qualification Test, then you are not meant for this job. Even if you somehow get into it, say by paying these scums, you will be kicked out in few weeks’ time.Â
Why?
Because Leapforce needs high quality works. And to do a high quality work, you need to have an aptitude level of at least cracking the qualification test.
When you can’t even crack the exam, you won’t do high quality works. And I can bet my life to it, that you will be kicked out of Leapforce in weeks.
5) Lastly, it is about integrity and being a man( or a woman). It is about being truthful and honest.Â
Would you be glad to work at something knowing that you cheated your way in to it?
Would you want to appear for few days and disappear again from Leapforce, because you will most likely be kicked out for quality issues?
Cheating only cheats you and no one else.
Â
What you should do when you come across it?
Please comment below and give me as much details as possible. I will make sure that actions are taken against them. I will take this up with Leapforce.
Edit Sept 25th 2018.
This email recruit.leapforceagency@gmail.com is a scam. A reader posted below saying that he was contacted by this person.
Notice that email, it ends with “gmail.com”
I spoke to that person in gmail, that’s where he apparently hangs out, and he was claiming to be Barry Ames and from Leapforce. He is not.
Leapforce/Appen don’t do recruitment in Google Hangout or via Facebook groups
And Leapforce’s email will always end with “@leapforceathome.com” Its also a bit confusing, because it is not just “@leapforce.com” but “@leapforce at home .com” without spaces of course.
And regarding exam, they will always contact you via this email –
agent-qualification@leapforceathome.com
27th Nov 2018 Update –Â
Leapforce was acquired by Appen towards the end of last year. Since then, their website url has been changed to “https://connect.appen.com/qrp/public/home” and they are no longer called “Leapforce”
The website has the big bold “APPEN” on it and its logo.
And most importantly, their official email, no longer ends with “….@leapforceathome.com” as mentioned above.
Now it looks something like this –
support@connect-mail.appen.com
                                      agent-qualification@connect-mail.appen.com
So any official email communications regarding working with Leapforce/Appen would come from email ending with “…..@appen.com”
Also they don’t require any investment or upfront payment for equipment or anything of that sort. And they don’t ask for money in the form of Google Pay, iTunes card or anything of that sort.
Please don’t be scammed and do report the scammers, their emails, Facebook links, etc via comments below.Â
Let us help one another.
Where you should apply?
You should directly go to their official website here and apply for the available positions. Here is their official website link –Â

I responded to an ad in 2 Facebook groups for a job. Hudges Tyler was the Facebook name. He game me an Interview ID and told me to contact this email: recruit.leapforceagency@gmail.com on Google Hangouts. They asked me all sort of questions and when I asked about legitimacy they showed me a screenshot of their BBB rating lol. I told them I was familiar with their company and the BBB rating, but how did I know they were truly a representative of the company? The wording in the questions alone show me they are not American. I researched the scam and found this. I wanted to share this to help others and will be reporting this to fb and the admins of the groups.
Thank you for sharing this.

A person by the name Katy Peters posted in a group on facebook about working from home so i asked how over in messenger. She gave me an interview code and an email: recruit.leapforceagency@gmail.com. She told me to go on the hangouts app and send the code to that email. I instantly got a response by someone so called Devin Enrique. I answered about 17 questions and gave him my full name and address. When he asked me for bank information he also wanted my username and password for my online banking and when i asked him for some kind of credentials or ID number he never answered me. I asked him to have someone call me from the company or a verification email he never answered back. I feel like i have put my family and myself in danger. I feel so stupid what can i do about this?
Ahhh… Did you give him your bank username and password as well? I hope you didn’t. I have reported that email to Leapforce, I am not sure whether they are doing anything about it or not.
If you have given your username and password for your bank account, please go to your bank immediately or call them up and have them disable your internet banking.
And you might even wanna report to police if they have taken your personal details like SSN and stuff. They are scammers. Please stay safe.
leapforcerecruite@gmail.com
Is this legit?
No !!
Anything that has “gmail.com” at the end is scam. ANything that has “ymail, yahoomail, hotmail” at the end is a scam. No company uses such email extensions.
Leapforce will only communicate to you via ” agent-support@leapforceathome.com” or any thing ending with “leapforceathome.com”
And yes that is a scam !
Hello I recently have been searching for a job and I’ve been messaged by a person on Facebook saying she’s a person who works at leap force she gave me an email to message a guy named Peter Edwin through Google Hangouts and I just wanted to see if it is a scan or not asked for credit card information and SSN and address and such can you help clear the air here
It is a scam !
Leapforce will never ever contact you via Google hangouts. And you don’t have to through any email or Google hangouts or give out credit card details to anyone in Facebook or Google hangouts. The only place you wanna apply for is in Leapforce’s official website which is “appen” now as it has been acquired by it.
My boyfriend went along with the scam. Gave them a hotel address. A fake ssn. A fake account and routing number . Then finally called them out. The email was Interview4leapforceagency234@gmail.com
Ha ha. He is smart. 🙂 This is definitely a scam email. Reporting to them. Thanks Tiffany for letting me know.
Leapforce@representative.com Is this a scam email?
Genuine emails will always have their company domain on their official email. And leapforce will always communicate via emails such as agent-qualification@leapforceathome.com or support@leapforceathome.com. The email you mentioned is definitely a scam. And you will know it once they start asking for your sensitive details.
I need help. Can you please email me.
How may I help ya?
So I was given this email recruit.leapforceagency@gmail.com and was told to email them via google hangouts and was also given a interview code just wanting to make sure this is legitimate hoping you can help.
That’s a scam ! There is nothing such email. They will always communicate you from an email that has ………@leapforceathome.com
Look at that email. It says “gmail.com”
Thank you for letting me know. And please tell me where did you get that email from?
Keep chatting with that person and please save the entire chats either in the form of screenshot or otherwise. And sent it to me. Send me all the details please.
I was given a phone number to text for an interview via text messaging, it seemed pretty standard at first but then they wanted pic id ssn pic of ss card and all personal info. They seemed hesitant to give me company info so that I could research them. Seems pretty fishy to me.
Could you send me that phone number? Leapforce will never ever communicate to you via mobile. So they are scammers for sure.
Yes i agree they ping you on facebook saying thwy are from the company and ask for your ssn and id pic etc . No thanks
Looking for some help Sam Narzary
